Application

  1. It is used as an inert electrode in electrochemical experiments (such as electrolysis and potentiometric titration), because of its strong corrosion resistance and its inability to participate in chemical reactions, which ensures measurement accuracy.
  2. It is used as the electrode of a precision temperature sensor and is widely used in industrial temperature measurement and scientific research equipment, such as low-temperature physics experiments and high-temperature furnace temperature control.
  3. A 99.95% platinum metal rod is used as a catalyst, often combined with palladium, rhodium, and other precious metals, to promote the purification of automotive exhaust and reduce emissions.
  4. It is used in the evaporation process to form a conductive layer or a barrier layer on the chip surface, or as a sputtering target to prepare a platinum thin film for microelectronic devices.
  5. They are used as temperature compensation resistors or precision resistors in high-temperature environments, such as aircraft engines and industrial kilns.

Process

① Reduce and purify platinum metal materials, control single impurities, and facilitate subsequent processing.

② Melt metal in a vacuum furnace and cast it into a platinum ingot.

③ Heat the platinum ingot to 800~1200℃ and process it into a bar billet by forging or rolling.

④ Use a diamond tool to precisely turn the outer circle of the bar, and the diameter tolerance is controlled at ±0.01 mm.

⑤ Annealing treatment to eliminate cold working stress and restore plasticity.

⑥ Electrolytic polishing to remove the oxide layer and micro burrs, and the surface finish reaches a mirror effect.
