Processing

1. Smelting and casting

(1) The high-purity platinum raw materials are melted under vacuum or inert gas protection by vacuum induction melting or electron beam melting. Subsequently, the molten platinum is cast into the mold to form a platinum ingot.

(2) Hot forging or hot rolling of platinum ingots to preliminarily refine the grains and increase the density. After that, it is cold rolled in multiple passes to process it into a plate or foil close to the target thickness.

2. Powder metallurgy

(1) Fill the high-purity platinum powder into a metal sleeve, then vacuum and seal.

(2) The sealed bag is placed in a hot isostatic press for sintering to form a billet with a very high density (≥99.5%).

(3) The sintered billet is de-sheathed, forged, and rolled to further control the grain size and final shape, and finally optimize the performance through heat treatment.

3. General follow-up processing

(1) Through precision machining such as turning, milling, grinding, and polishing, the platinum sheet is processed into the exact size and shape required by the customer, and the surface roughness is ensured to be extremely low
(2) Ultrasonic cleaning: Use anhydrous alcohol and other solvents for ultrasonic cleaning to thoroughly remove oil stains and tiny particles on the surface to avoid pollution during the coating process.
(3) Quality inspection: such as purity testing, visual inspection, dimensional accuracy, non-destructive testing, etc.
(4) The finished target will be vacuum-sealed and packaged in a clean environment to prevent oxidation or contamination during transportation and storage.
